Celebrating Our GMCS HOSA Champions!
Gallup-McKinley County Schools proudly congratulates students from McKinley Academy, Crownpoint High School, and Miyamura High School for their outstanding performance at the New Mexico HOSA State Leadership Conference, held in Albuquerque from April 9–11, 2026.
Students from our HOSA – Future Health Professionals chapters competed in a wide range of healthcare-related events, demonstrating their knowledge, technical skills, and leadership. Several students earned top placements and qualified to represent New Mexico at the 2026 HOSA International Leadership Conference, which will take place June 17–20, 2026 in Indianapolis.
Congratulations to all of our students and advisors for representing GMCS with excellence! Your dedication to learning and pursuing careers in healthcare reflects the strength of our School of Health pathways and the bright future of healthcare professionals in our communities.
We wish our national qualifiers the best of luck as they prepare to represent New Mexico at the HOSA International Leadership Conference this June in Indianapolis!

🎓✨ Class of 2026 Senior Edition – Photo Request! ✨🎓
Attention parents and guardians of our graduating seniors!
Each year, Gallup-McKinley County Schools creates a special Senior Edition magazine that is mailed to our graduates as a lasting keepsake. This edition features individual senior photos along with highlights from graduation.
📸 We need your help!
Please send in your student’s senior picture so they can be included in this special publication.
While we do receive some photos from school photographers, we would love to include as many submitted photos as possible so every senior is represented. Students without a submitted photo will still be listed, but we truly want to showcase each of our graduates.
📥 How to submit:
Send them to Public_Relations@gmcs.org. Don't forget to tell us your student's name and the school they attend. Please have your submissions in by MAY 8TH.

Let’s work together to make this a meaningful and memorable keepsake for the Class of 2026! 💙

Thank you for your support!

Cover design for Senior Edition 2025. It features a graduation cap, a map, and the year 2025.

This week, students and their advisors from across Gallup-McKinley County Schools will travel to Albuquerque (April 9–11) to compete in the HOSA State Leadership Conference.
Our students will represent their schools and our district in a variety of healthcare and biomedical science competitions, demonstrating the knowledge, professionalism, and leadership that HOSA – Future Health Professionals promotes through its mission of preparing students for careers in the health professions. Through these competitive events, students apply what they have learned in their School of Health and biomedical science courses while strengthening the skills needed to succeed in healthcare careers.

Students representing GMCS come from:
Crownpoint High School
• Miyamura High School
• McKinley Academy

We are incredibly proud of our students and advisors who continue to demonstrate the strength of Career & Technical Education (CTE) and the growing impact of our School of Health programs across the district.
To our competitors: Compete with confidence, support one another, and represent GMCS with pride.

Good luck to all of our HOSA participants!

House Bill 253 is being heard 02/09 at 8:30 AM, and your voice matters.

If this bill passes it will cause a $47 million dollar shortfall for GMCS this year - but there is still time to stop this legislation from moving forward. We are asking our community to please call and email members of the House Education Committee and our local legislators and urge them to vote NO on HB 253.

Please know this: GMCS is doing everything within its power to avoid any negative consequences to our students, staff, and community. We are actively advocating, working with legislators, and fighting to protect the funding our students depend on. A few minutes of your time telling our legislators to vote NO on House Bill 253 will make a real difference. Thank you for standing with our students and schools.

We are asking our community to please call and email members of the House of Education Committee and our local legislatures and urge them to vote NO to HB 253.

It has been a busy summer for GMCS/SFE food service!
We distributed 30,000 meals in the form of 5-day meal kits to many children in the community.

We prepared hot meals onsite at 5 Gallup area parks using our hot dog carts! We served burgers, BBQ, and other kid-approved meals to our community kids!

Plus, we offered hot meals at all 33 GMCS school sites for all children during July. At SFE, feeding kids is our favorite summer activity!
